Final Program for CABS Meeting in Fremantle now available

We are pleased to announce that we now have a Final Program for the CABS Meeting in Fremantle in November.  We have a wonderful Keynote Presentation planned and a series of engaging and topical sessions, with plenty of time for discussion and interaction.   We will be posting information on how to register by the end of July. In the meantime, put November 3 and 4 in Fremantle into your calendar and invite your Deputy as well!  There is a session planned concurrently for the CABS Secretaries as well.

Draft Program for 2011 CABS Meeting in Fremantle, Nov 3 and 4

The Draft Program of the CABS Meeting to be held in Fremantle in November is now available. Further details concerning registration and organisation will be posted by the end of July.  All CABS, Deputies and Executive Officers/Secretaries are welcome and are invited to put these dates into their diaries for what promises to be an interesting and engaging Forum.

Australian Qualifications Framework 2011

The message below is a note to Chairs from Anne Doolette from AQF…

  1. Implementation of the AQF will commence on 1 July 2011. For the higher education sector, use of the AQF will commence from the date of commencement of the regulatory functions of the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency. Implementation may commence voluntarily from 1 July 2011. For the VET sector, use of the AQF will commence from 1 July 2011. For the school sector, use of the AQF may commence voluntarily prior to 1 January 2015.
  2. All requirements of the AQF will be met from 1 January 2015.
  3. From 1 January 2015, all new enrolments will be in qualifications that meet the requirements of the AQF. From this date, students already enrolled in qualifications may complete the qualification in which they enrolled or may transfer without disadvantage to an equivalent qualification that meets the requirements of the AQF. Authorised issuing organisations will have publicly available policies or procedures to assist with this transition.
  4. Accrediting authorities and developers of AQF qualifications will have in place policies and processes in sufficient time to ensure that the implementation arrangements are met.
